Kerala High Court Assistant Examination : Eligibility,Exam Date and Selection Process

The Kerala High Court announced job openings for Assistant roles on March 27, 2024. You can start applying from April 3 until May 2, 2024. The hiring process will have three parts: a Preliminary exam, a Main exam, and an Interview.

Age Limit for Applying Kerala High Court Assistant

  • Candidates born between 02/01/1988 and 01/01/2006 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes born between 02/01/1983 and 01/01/2006 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes born between 02/01/1985 and 01/01/2006 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Qualifications for Applying Kerala High Court Assistant

Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks OR Master’s Degree OR Law Degree, awarded or recognised by any of the Universities in Kerala.
Desirable: Knowledge in Computer Operations.

Selection Process for Kerala High Court Assistant

The selection process will consist of an Objective Test, a Descriptive Test, and an Interview.

  • Objective Test: This test will have 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth 1 mark. Incorrect answers will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The test, lasting 75 minutes, will cover General English (50 marks), General Knowledge (40 marks) including facts about India & Kerala, the Constitution of India, General Science & Information Technology, and Current Affairs, as well as Basic Mathematics & Reasoning (10 marks). Answers will be recorded on an OMR Answer Sheet.
  • Descriptive Test: Following the Objective Test, candidates will take a 60-minute Descriptive Test worth 60 marks. This test will assess precis writing, comprehension, and essay writing skills, requiring answers to be written on separate answer sheets.
  • Interview: The final stage is an interview, carrying 10 marks. To be considered for the ranked list, candidates must score at least 35% in the interview.
